My NYC Trip, June 2009
photo

I just returned from a fabulous 4 day, all expense paid trip to NYC sponsored by my day job company, Senior Home Care.  My neice Stephanie accompanied me and we had the BEST time ever.  We stayed at the Hilton at Times Square and experienced a lot that NYC has to offer; great food, sightseeing, a broadway show called Jersey Boys, and late nights out.  We did not have time for shopping until we awoke on the morning we were to leave, and discovered that there was a 20 block street fair outside, so we were able to grab a few gifts and souvenirs, not to mention scarfing down some fab street fare such as empinadas, etc. before our driver arrived to take us to the airport.  It was great to spend time with family and co-workers.  My neice and I will talk about this trip for a long time to come.

A jewelry hint that I would like to impart is when you are traveling, always remember to carry on your jewelry and not check it.  In my case, I usually take a ton of jewelry to match all outfits since I have an arsenal of jewelry.  You do not want to lose your most valuable possessions in the event your luggage gets lost.  This happened to my sister.   On a trip to NYC she checked the precious pieces of jewelry that I made for her, and her luggage was lost.  Since many of the pieces were one-of-a-kinds, it was even more of a loss.  I have been trying to replace her jewelry at birthdays and Christmas, but it hasn't replaced the sting of losing all of that jewelry.
